Tattooed this on a women that came all the way from Georgia to get tattooed with her boyfriend. I was very humbled to find this out. She didn't enjoy getting tattooed all that much but she loved the finished product, as do I.

Tattooed this on a really interesting young man the other day that wanted a stick and poke tattoo covered up. This is what we agreed upon. A classic image of a skull and snake with flames. Basic, simple and straight to the point.

Did this artichoke on my friend Allie the other day. I really enjoyed tattooing this one (and the mer-pig I did on Bradon below) because I have had a lot of request to do a bit of black and grey lately (which I don't mind doing and really enjoy) However, it was nice to switch it up a bit and do something color. Did this Mer-pig on my friend Brandon the other day. He came in a with a request of doing something traditional, but not of any particular traditional image, instead a mix of images with a traditional spin. This is what I came up with.

So this here tattoo is on a good friend of mine and one of my favorite people, Chris. They moved to Arizona a while back and came for a visit and during are time visiting, tattooing came up. This tattoo is for his lady and has personal meaning to them both. I really enjoy tattooing silly imagery, because well not all tattoos need to have some deep seeded emotional meaning to them, but in this case it has both, which I'm stoked to do. I know them both well and this just fits their personality. A rubber chicken on the phone is just good stuff! thanks again Chris, it was good to see you and Jaimi both!

Another Eagle on my friend Zach. He really just wanted a filler piece of an Eagle and this is what I gave him. He was stoked on it and I was happy to tattoo another eagle, because well, they're so iconic and bad-ass looking.

Did this Tattoo on my good buddy Dash a while back. I did a little painting of in a few days before posted it on a well known social media site and he said he would love to get it tattooed. That was that. Glad I could tattoo it, this was so much fun and he sat like a rock!

Did this tattoo on a friend of mine's mom a little while ago. She came in a few days later and let me get a photo of her tattoo as it was healing. This was her first tattoo and she decided to get the name of her beloved Wes to commemorate 35 years of marriage to him. I was honored to do it. And she sat like a rock!

It's a beach in bottle, that he just came in a I randomly had an opening and he wanted to get tattooed. I couldn't be happier with how the tattoo came out, other than the funny angle when taking a photo of it. Thanks again Dash!

I dont usually post up coming projects in the sketch format, but I have to say I'm very excited about this one. This is a piece that will wrap around the whole body of one of my clients. Starting at the side of her right hip and going up around and in between her chest. I think that with this tattoo the client will be wearing the tattoo well, as opposed to the tattoo wearing her as some tattoos do in some cases.

Did this Cock-a-la Mucha on my friend Jen from art school. I really had a great time tattooing this piece and I know she had a great time as well (well at least I think she did) Thanks again Jen, this was too much fun!

A side of the hand tattoo. I really am against tattooing the side of the hand (or the hand in general) however, there are some people out there that get a bit of a break. People that already have a good portion of their body tattooed or people that are fairly older and set in their career and/or life. This little piece mean "forgive me mother" in Spanish. I did this job one a very nice young gentlemen that came in and wanted this tattoo, I read him the riot act of getting his hands tattooed and he said he was well aware and appreciated that I was concerned, but that he wanted the tattoo on the hand nonetheless. I can't argue with that.

Pretty straight forward tattoo here. I don't take hand tattoos lightly, however you must know that this women already had her hands tattooed, so to say no to something on the knuckles is a little difficult.

Tattooed this Lady justice piece a few weeks back on a client I had down for a half day of work. He originally had a half day scheduled to work on a on going sleeve, but we just couldn't come up with some ideas for the empty spots that are left to fill on his arm and I didn't want to jump into anything we both wouldn't be proud to have on ourselves. So in the mean time, we decided to go with a piece that he had been wanting for some time. Hence, Lady Justice. I had a great time tattooing this piece and I can only hope he was stoked on it too (he did seem to think it was sweet!)

Did this Buddhist Chola hand on my friend Cory the other day. I have to say this was one of those tattoos I just lost myself in and really enjoyed tattooing, not to say I don't enjoy tattooing all the things my clients bring me, but this one was just super fun! Maybe it was all the wise ass jokes her and I say to each other that made this tattoo extra fun? I don't know. But anyways, thank you again Cory, on to the next one!

Did this the other day on a good friend of mine (took the photo a day or two after, hence the crusty). He wanted something a little different, but along the same lines as a few other previous tattoos I have done (the, "yeah, I party!" tattoos I have done on a few other mutual friends) Anyways, he wanted his to be a bit more punk rock and a little more, well, fucked up! Did this piece a while ago on a really very nice young man. It's from the book "where the wild things are" and so to keep true to the image of the book I washed out my colored quite a bit (hence, the faded look). I normally don't do tattoos like this, but this was a fun tattoo to do. It wasn't straight from the book as he wanted me to tie in elements from three different pages to make his tattoo, but I think they worked out well. Thank you again Erich for trusting me with a bit of a challenge.

Did this fun lil' walk-in the other day. She said "I wan't a skull, and make it hella cute!" This is what I came up with. Hopefully, it's as cute as a skull in my style can get.

Did this on a client of mine from Crescent City. I have been working on a sleeve on him, but as it were; when he came down he hadn't really thought of what to do inside a few open areas on the arm that we were going to fill in that day. I had about an hours worth of work on him to finish what I started, but he had booked me for half of a day. Long story short, he had been checking out this chola for some time and decided that he would get this for the day and we work on his sleeve the next time. I wasn't going to complain. I really enjoyed doing this tattoo, and glad it went on someone that really enjoyed the art. Thanks again Cory it was fun!

So the outside of Daniel's 1/2 Sleeve is done, and I have to say I'm pretty pumped about this one. A very kind of serene type of tattoo I feel, and we finished it in 2 sessions! Thanks again Daniel, this was a lot of fun!

So the outside of Jon's 7/10 sleeve is done (or I think so?) I might add some other touches here and there to give it something more, but for now here it is. The inside of his arm is next and I think it will tie in nicely with the ghost story theme we have going on here. Thank you Jon for driving all this way to get tattooed!

Will is back up from So. Cal and we did this on him. I added the dragon around the Oni I lined out more than a year ago now. We got a lot done on this one and I figure we have 2 more sessions to go, but I'm really excited about this one. Thanks Will!

So while I was visiting with my old Boss Carl, this young man walked in and wanted to get tattooed, Carl having an appointment coming in refereed him to me, what a classy guy! Anyways, a pretty straight forward tattoo to pay tribute to the young man's grandmother.

Another really fun walk-in I did on a friend of a friend. Mikey came in wanting something tattooed, he didn't know what he wanted. So I broke out my sketch book and he picked this design. More people should do this I feel, it keeps tattooing fresh and exciting. Thank you Mikey!

Did this a few weeks back as well. A very fun walk-in that I did on a buddy of mine who was helping out another buddy of mine that has a show a few doors down from the shop. This is a start of a rather large floral leg piece that I started a while back. It's going to be mostly of roses and ferns and maybe some bugs and such. Should be very fun. Color to come next as well as add the bottom fern, then on up the thigh.

I am always happy to have clients come back and let me see the healed versions of there tattoos. I haven't seen this young lady in a while and was wondering how she was and how he tattooed healed, so I called and inquired and found out that she had a rather serious surgery that almost killed her. I am happy to report that she well and on the mend! So in a few months or so she plans on getting back into the studio for more tattoos, but for now is taking it easy, which I completely understand. Thank you again!

On Cory as well. Did this one about a year and half ago I believe now. Cory has great skin and she heals her tattoos really well. I did touch up a little bit her and there when I tattooed the squaw on her, but all in all the tattooed healed great!

We start to discuss what it is what he would like and as he says "I don't know" turns around in my station and ask's if this drawing is taken, I say that it is not and wham! here we are. Did some painting for a show I have going on this month at a local beer bar we have up here. It is a tribute to the "unknown Tattooer" Ben Corday. Did this neck tattoo on an older women a while ago as well. And I have to say what a gangster! She sat better than most men when I'm tattooing their arms. I often refrain from tattooing necks, but I made an exception as she already had the other side of her neck tattooed. I really did enjoy tattooing this one!

This was a walk-in I did some time ago. And what fun was this piece! She sat great and was very open for interpretation and style on how to approach this tattoo. Thank you traveling girl, safe travels!

Finished Danny's sleeve up a while back, but I finally got him back into the shop for some healed photos of the mermaid/turtle sleeve. I have to say I'm rather proud of this piece and proud of Danny on how quick we finished this sleeve. It's dedicated client's like him that make my job not seem like a job. Thank you Danny, on to the next one!

Had fun with this piece. Dedicated to her father (a retired sailor). What better way to honor your dad than with an old fashioned Sailor Jerry influenced tattoo.

So a good friend of mine has been talking to me about this idea that he's had for some time of a fish ruler. He own's probably one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating in. Thus, the idea! The tattoo is of a king Salmon (which we have up here on the North Coast) but it's spine also doubles as a ruler. The fish as a whole is 8" the spine is 4" and the tail is 5 cm. Broken down into separate increments for measuring sushi and other things. I also added a 'J' hook above the fish so he had a marker marking at 1'. I really enjoy different idea's like this one and hope to tattoo more down the road.

Traditional Sailor Jerry Design. The "Aloha Monkey" is said that one day Jerry came into the shop and his pet monkey had been acting funny. What Jerry later discovered is the monkey had drank all of his black ink. Jerry then proceeded to beat the pet and when a random sailor walked in to get a tattoo, the monkey ran to the sailor and perched on his shoulder. The sailor not knowing what was going on asked Jerry what was up and right then the monkey threw up all over the sailor and Jerry told the young man to just take "that damn thing and get it the fuck out of here" Hence, the "aloha" monkey. Or so I'm told.

Working on a serious cover-up here. Had a request for a octopus of some sort and had artistic freedom and this is what I came up with. A long way to go still, but I thought I'd share the progression of this piece.

Had Eddie come in for some healed photos of his 7/10 sleeve. Couldn't be happier with how this healed. Just wanted to post.

An old school take on an old school plane. This is a P-17 bomber (I believe). Not much to say other than that is was super fun to tattoo this on a very fun and upbeat young lady who plans on getting a whole sleeve of planes on her arm. I can't wait, this was too much fun.

My first portrait. Well if you count the puppy I tattooed a few weeks ago as a portrait than I guess this would be number two, however this is my first human portrait. To say that I was nervous is an understatement. A portrait is something you can not screw up on. It has to be spot on and that is a lot of pressure on an artist especially and tattoo artist. I did this on the request of a gentlemen that wanted a joker tattoo. However, he did not want the typical joker but more of a court jester. After a few passes of drawing different jester(s) if just didn't flow. So I thought of something- a portrait of the "man who laughs". Some say this man was the inspiration for the character "the joker" in the widely popular Batman movies. I had a lot of fun tattooing this and hope for more portraits down the road.
