On my good friend Tahnee. Really going to enjoy tattooing this as she is giving me complete freedom with this one. Only guild line was that is be "Pretty and Bright" (Which I have been told that I can be intimidating from time to time) but I really do enjoy tattoo fun, pretty things that complement the human form. Had a great session lining this one out and she sat great! going to be hacking away on this one is about a month, and again I'm excited. This is just going to be really fun to work on.

Nit my typical way of drawing a phoenix, but nonetheless it was fun to tattoo this one. Kept it pretty basic on the color theme. Just Black and Grey, and Red and Orange for the flames.

So I actually finished this awhile ago. I did a little tattoo on him last night (horse) and did a little touch up here and there. Still might throw some highlights in the belly plates to create some more separation in areas but we will see.

Just a little reminder of what I was covering up.

Something real classy here. I really enjoy my job and take it seriously. But from time to time I really enjoy doing something goofy and fun. Still taking every line and putting thought into shading, but just making the image itself, fun. Always a good time Matt!

Cover up of some weird looking dice. Just stuck with some classic looking Roses. Always enjoy doing a cover up that the client(s) let's me spit out ideas until something clicks with them and the tattoo becomes just almost effortless. Always a pleasure.

So this has been a long time coming. A very fun piece to tattoo on a great young lady and fellow artist (photographer). Color will be added soon enough. (not responsible for the tattoo to the right)

Got some more work done on Joe here. Shaded the hair, re-worked the arm band and colored in her hair as well as worked on some of the feathers. Still a lot to go on this sleeve, but for a cover-up/re-work we are moving along really well. Thank you again Joe for sitting like a champ (seriously the guy can sit all day, so long as I let him stand up and let the blood flow back into his butt.)

Still some work to be done on the Maiden. Color in the hair and feathers are next session.

Got the river colored in and the rest of the hillside. Wanted the hillside to look as though it had rocks and mud along with foliage covering both. His research on the part of Indian that he has his ancestry in located them in the Mississippi Region.

So the inside is what I am covering up. He had some tribal and a dragon, that is now covered up with a hillside that the chief is standing upon. Still some work to be done on that little guy, fine tuning and more cover-up of the band up above him. Should be a fun session.

So this particular piece is a 3 tattoo cover up. A lot to go on this piece and I hope it goes smoothly. It looks like I might not get back on this tattoo for bit, but I think we got to a good stopping place until the next time (as he has to drive up from Oakland). Next session we will be lining out the background and lining the subject for the inside of the arm. Should tie into the subject well (or at least I hope). Always a fun tattoo to do as Dragons seem to be fairly endless in possibility's in the way they can be executed. Until next time.

Bit more color to go on the dragon itself, then background and the inside of the arm. Good times!

So apparently this guy is a avid Baseball fan and lover of the Giants, and not some much love for the Dodgers. I however, did have a lot of fun tattooing this piece. And even though I grew up playing a lot of sports and one of them being baseball I understand rivalry, and to each their own, but I do admit I have a feeling I am going to get a lot of awkward looks for being the one that tattooed this.

Had a lot of fun tattooing this one. Lately it seems I'm getting asked to do some Black and grey which I love to tattoo. This particular piece is a Mayan (if I remember right) serpent God.

Some dames. Wanted to do a piece that looked like it might be painted by a man from the turn of the century, don't know if I hit the mark but we will see. I still have to put all the little borders and background to these women. Should set them off quite nicely, I hope!

Simple and straight to the point. Dagger and Snake, cant go wrong, come get you this tattooed today.

This is a first in a series of 3. all will have the number 3 in them as in regards to the eyes that is. I kind of really just wanted to take something that is usually very sweet and tender and flip it a bit. Don't quite know if I'm done with this one as well, I might push it a bit further and up the contrast and add more black and background, we'll see.
